LONDON, England-- On a national radio program’s “Thought for the Day,” the British Broadcasting Corporation featured the pastime of Lord Ramachandra taking birth on earth to show how Krishna as king set a Godly example of leadership.

The program announcement and a parade highlighted ISKCON’s Ramnavami celebration here. Four-hundred devotees walked and chanted through London on April 13 alongside an ox-drawn swan float with moveable wings and Gaura-Nitai Deities.

Organizers spoke on the radio about how the Lord displayed enlightened governance, a relevant topic as the country prepared for national elections. Devotees dressed as Rama, His queen, Sita, brother, Laksman, and faithful money companion, Hanuman. The party distributed 5,000 pieces of sanctified food and 10,000 leaflets.
