Dear Puru Prabhu, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! The quote that you give is an example of how Srila Prabhupada was always completely in charge of how initiations were to take place. He obviously placed a great deal of importance on this subject. You don't give the date of this letter, but it was obviously written before July 9, 1977. Srila Prabhupada officially modified the way initiations were to be carried out on July 9, 1977, and he never again modified the system after that. He never authorized anyone, including his ritvik appointees, or the GBC body, to ever change this system. In fact, he specifically stated in his "Last Will and Testament", "NO CHANGES"! What could be more clear? Despite this fact, ISKCON now has a ridiculous system for initiations which does not work, which will never work, which was never authorized by Srila Prabhupada, and which goes against all common sense! Guru means "acharya", and you cannot have more than one acharya in an institution, and have it work. The Gaudiya Math's crazy concoction was never authorized by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati. ISKCON's present concoction, like the "Zonal Acharya" concoction which preceded it, was dreamed up in consultation with the Gaudiya Math, which Srila Prabhupada stated, "are very competent to harm our natural progress", and which has no common sense when it comes to how to preach this sublime cult of Śrī Chaitanya Mahaprabhu all over the world. The Gaudiya Math's propensity for causing trouble is increasing due to the fact that the present impure GBC body has no potency to stop them. Purity must be restored to the GBC body, and Srila Prabhupada's orders on how initiations are to be carried out must be restored, otherwise ISKCON will simply continue to cause trouble for the sincere devotees, and will continue to put obstacles in their path, just as the Gaudiya Math has been doing for many, many years. An ISKCON temple president once told me, "The GBC's 'gurus' are pretenders, and so are the Gaudiya Math's, but the Gaudiya Math pretenders are much better at it! In fact, there is no contest! When it comes to acting out the 'I am a sadhu.' role, the Gaudiya Math 'gurus' are beyond compare!" ISKCON's "gurus" might as well throw in the towel now, before they make even bigger fools of themselves than they already have! It's Krishna's arrangement that the Gaudiya Math "gurus" are making fools out of the ISKCON "gurus", but the trouble is, innocent people are thinking that the Gaudiya Math "gurus" are genuine, and are therefore being misled.
