Dear Prabhus, please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda!

Have you ever been in a temple where the temple president does not attend the morning program regularly? Then the GBC man rolls into town and tells the temple president, “You must set a good example, and attend the morning program!” The TP doesn’t have to attend because it’s Śrīla Prabhupāda’s instructions, or for his own spiritual well being, or to allow himself to be seen by the Deities, but only to “set a good example,” because he happens to be the TP.

But what about the temple president’s wife, the temple president’s children, and the other women and children who live in the temple, or in temple housing? The GBC obviously considers them to be sub-human dogs, so it doesn’t matter whether they go or not.

All responsible husbands and fathers, what to speak of the women and children themselves, should be very much insulted by this attitude on the part of the ISKCON leaders. When Śrīla Prabhupāda was personally running things, men, women, and children were all considered equally important members of the Kṛṣṇa conscious society, and as such were very much welcomed, encouraged, and even required to attend the whole morning program right alongside the men, including the japa class! Now the women and children have obviously been reduced to “second class citizen” status, and as such, are not expected to attend the morning program in many temples.

Your servant,
