Utility: Prepare VedaBase™ Text for Email or Facebook™

(Tested using Firefox 39, IE11, and Microsoft Edge)

Note: The  function converts to actual bold, conversations enhanced by the function or copy/pasted from the http://causelessmercy.com/ website, both examples of which use a contrastng color for bold. (This website, also uses a contrastng color for bold.)
How to copy/paste text from the VedaBase™ into your email message with the Sanskrit diacritics preserved (Using this simplified method, the bold, the italics and proper paragraph spacing will be lost):

1. Set your email message to “Rich formatting.”

2. Make sure that Show HTML above is not checked.

3. Click .

4. Copy/paste some text from the VedaBase into the text box above.

5. Click .

6. If the text is a conversation, then click .

7. Copy/paste the resultant text from the text box above into your email message.

8. Change the font of the text in the email message to Tahoma. For example, if you are using Gmail, then highlight (select) the text and change the font to Tahoma using the button.

How to copy/paste text from the VedaBase™ into your email message with the Sanskrit diacritics, the bold, the italics and proper paragraph spacing preserved:

1. Set your email message to “Rich formatting.”

2. Highlight (select) the text in the VedaBase.

3. Click “File / Export….”

4. Save the text on your desktop using “Rich Text Format.”

5. Load the resultant .RTF file into Microsoft Word.

6. Click “File / Save As….”

7. Save the text on your desktop as HTML.

8. Load the resultant .htm file into Internet Explorer. (Firefox will not work.)

9. Make sure that Show HTML above is not checked.

10. Click .

11. Copy/paste the VedaBase text in Internet Explorer into the text box above.

12. Click .

13. If their is bold in the text, click . (optional)

14. If the text is a conversation and there is no bold used in the VedaBase transcription, then click .

15. Copy/paste the text from the text box into your email message.

16. Change the font of the text in the email message to Tahoma. For example, if you are using Gmail, then select (highlight) the text and change the font to Tahoma using the button.

Try copy/pasting a portion of a web page into the text box above. Then check the Show HTML checkbox to see what the HTML looks like.
Note: The  /  system works completely independently of whether or not the Show HTML checkbox is checked.
The text box above is a “rich formatting” text box, which means that the following are among Internet Explorer’s keyboard “shortcuts” which may be used:

1. “Enter” - New paragraph.

2. “<Shift>Enter” - New line.

3. “<Ctrl>B” - Toggle selected text between bold and nonbold.

4. “<Ctrl>C” - Copy selected text to the clipboard.

5. “<Ctrl>I” - Toggle selected text between italic and nonitalic.

6. “<Ctrl>K” - Make selected text into a link.

7. “<Ctrl>U” - Toggle selected text between underlined and not underlined.

8. “<Ctrl>V” - Replace selected text with the clipboard contents.

9. “<Ctrl>X” - Delete selected text after copying it to the clipboard.
